Catherine Compton, soprano

About Me:​

I hold a music education degree from Iowa State University where I trained to be a choral director. My graduate degree is from the University of Colorado-Boulder, where I sang my first opera roles and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. I am drawn to the crisp logic of German grammar and vocabulary, and enjoyed exploring how language intersects with music and culture during my Fulbright fellowship in Leipzig. I am currently based in Brownsville, Texas where I coordinate the performances of students, faculty, ensembles, and guests of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Music.
